Participated in Glish this year for the first time =) It was fun, though it was also considerably more stressful than GISHWHES as it was more competitive. We were in Team Elephant, and we came in second place, just one point away from the winning team! I am really proud of our team and what we've accomplished together! =) We were very lucky to have Brenda on our team, who had access to the ice castle challenge. I think recently, I've discovered country lolita to be my comfort zone. Through Glish, I had a chance to try out Ouji for the first time, thanks to Jenn for agreeing to the swap =) I'm still not confident with my ouji makeup skills and posing though, so I don't think I will be wearing ouji out for events any time soon. Alright here are some of my share of entries below~ ^ Dressing up as an animal ; in this case, as Rudolf the reindeer XD Had fun with makeup. Water-based acrylics make a good replacement for face paints. I finally got to wear my Rainhouse deer cape as well! It is so thick and furry I couldn't find any occasion to wear it out in hot, hot Singapore. Twinning (left) and triplets (right) shots below respectively~ Haru joined in the fun as well~ We got to put a pink bow on him and also play with him. Finally, I did a quick drawing of our Elephamily <3 A pity we may not be in the same team again next time, but nonetheless, the whole Glish experience has been very rewarding and fun =) Super love scavenger hunts!

Coord plans for a Sanrio shoot! (Photo credits to respective Taobao companies)
I'll be playing Lala, while Jamie will do Kiki. Bought a new dress from NyaNya (水仙女露莎卡) for the shoot. The hubby wants to wear white pyjamas for the shoot lol. The new Boguta underskirt with stars looks so lovely in the photos! Now I have more excuses to get star-themed dresses haha~ Throwback to a Day Dream Carnival meet some time back~ Thanks to JoAnn for the invite and to Sabrina for the photos =) Totally forgot to bring my camera that day and in my hurry, I couldn't find my wig net and ended up just using my natural hair instead. Oh well...
It was a fuwa fuwa meet and it was nice to see one of my favourite prints in all sorts of colours (save black). Was introduced to "gangsta loli" style too lol , something Altimera Sinclair made up~ Her coord was interesting! I think I still wear lolita in very conventional ways. Would love to put in more effort into spicing up my coords after we move into our new home and unpack everything. Anyway, re-wearing this print made me super tempted to get the lavender tiered version now >...< Feel like I should be updating my wishlist again soon! Organised a small Mermaids & Unicorns themed meet last Sunday at Boufe Boutique Cafe. Was very happy to see my friends take the effort to dress up and craft items for their dolls for the meet!
Boufe Boutique Cafe also had an outdoor area behind the shop which served as what seems like a solemnisation area and also a waiting area. Thanks to the arches and decorations there, we managed to take some nice photos~ There was even a broken shiny unicorn which we helped ourselves to as props =P Jenn was like some unicorn prince with it! I really had fun photographing everyone =)
Innocent World Annette skirt in Red, GET! I'm over the moon :D Been wanting this skirt for a long while, but red hadn't been appearing. Managed to get it on Y!J finally =) Sis got me the Yolanda kerchief that I've been searching for so long! I can finally wear my Berry River out now with the nice matching kerchief ^^ I do hope to continue expanding my collection of strawberry prints and country lolita dresses! XD So le hubby likes the Ista Maiden Alpine maiden lolita dress and wanted to get it for me =)
But it's so hard to choose a colour! I think both the wine and matcha green versions are really nice <3 どうしよう!?
Attended Jenn's Bday tea party at St Regis last weekend. Well, I have been digging my Bambi de la foret secrete dress quite a bit of late, so I wore it again. But this time, I matched it with a bunny beret =P
I think I went on a crazy beret spree before I left Singapore, and they are sitting in my cupboard, waiting for their turn... (Don't worry, I love you all!) The food was tasty, and consisted of a buffet and a standard set. First time having foie gras cream puff. I must say it tasted rather strange. The birthday princess was really cute too XD Mary Magdalene's perfume bottle has been on my wishlist for quite a while now~ It's really nice to see it in person ^^ Was wonderful catching up with all the familiar faces whom I've missed while I was in Switzerland too. I look forward to more weekends like this! Orest's photos of Anki & myself in the forest =) Love how he has made it look like autumn~
More photos to come! ... Went to the nearby forest behind our VG last week for a little photoshoot together with Anki, Orest & James =) Finally got to wear my Bambi de la foret secrete dress out =) I'm keen to coord it differently once again in SG ~ We have a couple more days before the hot summers end here and the rainy Autumn begins. James is definitely not looking forward to that as he can no longer bike to work with the rain... I'm excited tho, I really want to see the tree in their autumny state <3 Looking forward to taking some photos!
Last Friday, Ally, Fabian, James and myself headed to Morsbach, Germany for Fabian's new book release, Veränderung. Fabian was so excited that he got to drive the rented Mercedes (seems like we got a free upgrade from a BMW!). It was rather crazy driving on the German autobahn; we hit a record of 230++ km/h. In Singapore, we would be in prison by now, but on the German highways, there's no such thing as a speed limit. Stayed at Alex's (Fabian's brother) place. We had very lovely, very German breakfasts at Fab's foster mom's place over the weekend. Lots of cheese, sausages, bread and all sorts of spreads. His family was very warm and welcoming. I'm not used to having long conversations at the dining table; breakfast there was almost 3 hrs long! Unfortunately, I could only grasp bits and pieces of the conversation as my German is still schlecht. After breakfast, we roamed around town for a bit before heading to start filling up the 500 balloons for release. Wore my Metamorphose Happy Balloons to suit the happy occasion =) Am glad that the event went smoothly. It was breathtaking watching all those balloons rise high in the sky. So colourful and bright, they looked like skittles in the sky! The night was pretty much a street party. There was food, dancing, games, booze and more booze. It's like a school funfair, just town scale. Saw some Germans dressed in the traditional Dirndl. They look really nice on busty ladies. Fabian's foster mom was really nice and provided us with the coupons to buy food. There was a fireworks show which lasted for like a good 10 to 15 minutes. It was really an unforgettable day and I'm happy that Fabian enjoyed himself lots as well. He's now the talk of the town! I wish I could read his book, but I'll have to level up my German first.
For the record, here's the page for his book if anyone's keen: https://www.facebook.com/Literaturgesellschaft.ch/?fref=ts First trip to Germany for the Urban Fairytale lolita event in Berlin! [23-24 July 2016] While we stayed only a couple of days over the weekend, it was a rather nice and memorable trip. 6 minutes before we boarded the plane, we read news of the shootings in Munich and I was honestly a little worried. Nonetheless, Berlin turned out to be a nice little town and the people are friendly. I love the architecture in Berlin. On the first day, we cycled around the city, visiting castles and eating wild blackberries from the bushes. Germany has a really rich history, but it's tinged with sadness too. Had curry wurst for dinner ; a dish James had been raving about. We had some difficulties finding our hostel as the street signs were written in old German and their 's's looked like 'f's. So, Wasselstraße ended up looking like Waffel street at first glance. On day 2, we checked out of our hostel at the latest time possible but were still too early for the lolita event. We ended up roaming around Spandau Zitadelle, doing our own little photoshoot. The fort is really pretty. James agreed to dress up with me for the event and I was really thankful that he agreed to put up with the thick jacket and all in that sunny weather. His coord is fully from Fanplusfriend + shoes from Singapore. Here's a breakdown of my coord: OP : BTSSB La Robe Vert Clair Necklace : BTSSB Gloves : F+F Parasol : Innocent World (was elated to get this retractable version in Japan which fits in my luggage!) Leggings : Metamorphose Hat & Shoes : Taobao The event felt rather cosy, and a little less lavish compared to the HK lolita event (considering the restaurant buffet spread at the HK event). However, there were definitely a lot more shops featured. There was a catwalk show by BTSSB and some indie designers. I really liked the last two dresses and an Ouji outfit featured in the BTSSB catwalk but couldn't really catch the names of them. Managed to meet up with Jazlyn as well =) Unfortunately, we didn't manage to stay throughout the entire event as we had to catch our plane. After all my purchases in Japan, I decided not to splurge at the Urban Fairytale event afterall. Hoping to pop by other lolita events while I'm in Europe. Will be meeting some lolitas in Luzern this weekend. I'm really excited! Will update when the time comes, till then! Attend my first summer ILD last Saturday. It was really fun! This year, it was a book / fairytale themed event, held at East Manhattan. I enjoyed myself much =) Met a lot of people I didn't know. I went as Little Red Riding Hood, while Jenn went as my wolfy =P I really liked the Surface Spell velvety red outfit I got. Even my mom (who is normally against my lolita hobby) loved it. I think she was won over by the gold embroidery lol.

Sis thinks the one on the left suits me more, but I think the outfit on the right is more versatile... Had an eventful weekend last week. Took a midnight flight to Hong Kong, spent a day shopping on Saturday, followed by the Triple Fortune Lolita tea party on Sunday. Splurged quite a bit on makeup from Joe Stuart (their lipsticks and glosses are awesome!) , Paul & Joe (I bought their nail polishes) and Laduree. Found a palette from Laduree which went well with my coord and can be versatile with mori dressing. Nude shades, gold with some dark greens for accents. I was superbly impressed with the event! Though the queueing and logistics seemed like a nightmare (to the organisers) to me. Picked a ping pong ball and got "48". This was the shopping number. All TF bonnets were sold out by then though.. I enjoyed the cat walk, though I couldn't take very good photos... Lots of my photos turned out blur.. I especially liked the Triple Fortune pieces <3 It was awesome that we got to speak to the Triple Fortune designers (Babi and Kaie) themselves too! Here's a group photo of us lolitas from SG :D I liked the new Dreamholic wig I got a lot! First time I'm sporting bangs! Haha, the bouncy texture felt rather natural too~ Modified my headdress from a decorative part of the Classical Puppets steampunk corset I bought previously. It was rather difficult to find green roses to match my JSK, so I was glad I could use this. (They look like cabbages somehow lol)
Everybody's coords were so pretty and well thought through =) I'm looking forward to the next overseas lolita meet - Urban Fairytale in Germany. I do wonder what events are like in Europe. This event was an eye-opener and gave me some inspirations for SGDC as well. I hope that the SG loli scene will be able to bring in overseas brands for events such as ILD in the future too! =) I did a super duper impulse buy yesterday after failing to get the Angelic Pretty Elisabeth Unicorn Navy JSK I wanted so much ... (someone did a buy it now while I was waiting to bid on the last day). Anyway, I ended up buying a Baby the Stars Shine Bright La Robe Vert Clair (Midori Fukasawa x BTSSB collaboration). Was intending for it to be my ROM dress, but turns out I read the following clause after I paid ... " delivery in April. This is a preorder... " and my face totally turned white. Why is it a preorder when it's a 2013 release? o_O And it's even brand new! I'm really afraid that it is going to be a replica... The price wouldn't justify it and I don't support replicas as well : / I'm really crossing my fingers and hoping that it will arrive original and undamaged... If it does, I'd be over the moon :D Showed James the photo and he said the dress would make me look like I won a prize. Well, I guess I'll just remove the sash for my ROM. I still think it's a very very beautiful dress and I love the colour a lot. =)
Have I also mentioned that my IW Lotta skirt is on its way? :D I can't wait! Think I'll wear my Angelic Pretty Ivory DDC to the Triple Fortune lolita event in Hong Kong afterall =) Hopefully I'll be able to coord it better this time~ Updates (25 Feb 2016) : 1. My Lotta Skirt arrived! Wore it out for SGDC2016 :D A bit of a pity that I didn't wear it with a hoop skirt though. 2. Was informed by Jennifer that both colourways of la robe were available for reservation, so my purchase was most likely someone selling away her reservation! Which means I actually got a pretty sweet deal considering that it was priced lower than the reservation price! <3 Looking forward to receiving the dress in April ^^ Updated as of 8 February 2016 (First day of the year of the Fire Monkey! XD )
I've been digging darker colours (especially navy blue) for a while now. Praying real hard that the Elisabeth Unicorn will go off this list into my collection soon! ;)
Had a lovely shoot with Jennifer last Sunday =)
First time wearing sweet lolita out! Finally broke into my Angelic Pretty Day Dream Carnival JSK. Felt so fuwa fuwa~ And I don't know how many people have stopped to take photos with us.. Well, shall just take it as a compliment instead of feeling like some circus animal. Bleh =P Ate at Antoinette at Mandarin Gallery; the place was dim and not really great for photos, but the food was lovely =) It reminded me of the hash beef rice which I miss so much... Bought Royal Blue Garden tea from Laudaree but have yet to try it. I think tea & tea sets are gonna be added to my list of collections soon.. Yikes >.< I have to also mention that the macarons were FABULOUS. I'm so gonna do a candy station for some occasion (birthday or whatever) and order heaps of marie antoinette (blue) macarons =P They were such a lovely colour too ^^ Whee!! I love planning for events & stuff ~ lolita shops list from taobao focus~ (for self reference)Nana-Lolita

Started off feeling a little awkward and out of place as I didn't really see any familiar faces. But it eased up eventually with all the loli fangirling talk =p The hosts - Sabrina & Jazlyn were very welcoming. Araya, my twin, arrived a lil late as she had to meet a Japanese friend. It's really nice to know new, nice people =) I guess I'm slowly fading away from the doll scene and more into the loli scene. Photo credits go to Stephanie & Sabrina~ (didn't bring my DSLR that day >.< ) Look forward to future meets and more opportunities to wear loli with friends ^^ Meeting up Jennifer next weekend! Can finally pass her her sheeeep :D I'm also looking forward very much to our Japan trip in Japan. Really have to go to Laforet's basement to dig out all the loli goodies, as recommended by my new friends :) Think I didn't do enough shopping the last time we were in Japan >.< On a side note, I think blisshouse is a very nice place for a wedding solemnisation :3 It actually feels a lot roomier than Neko no Niwa and the deco is just so lovely <3 |
