Tried out another cookie recipe this week. http://www.crimsonmane.com/CrimsonManeArt/User/CustomPage.aspx?name=Cookies Recipe as above, as recommended by the etsy shop I bought the cookie molds from. Expanded a little in the oven since there was baking powder in the recipe. I'm still trying to find a good recipe that produces non-expanded cookies. Am still happier with the ginger cookies instead. |
Anyway, did icing on Nyan cat and a couple of alpaca cookies =) Consistency is a little too thick. Think I should go for Wilton's medium icing next time, and maybe try piping the icing instead of just using the scribe tool.

Legend has it that Will Blackburn, the blacksmith, became a wrathful man after losing his beautiful wife to a tragic murder, and his only child stolen (or killed as he believed). He wrecked havoc wherever he went and his heart turned black with bitterness. When he died, he was sent back by Saint Peter, who wished for him to reform in his second life. Unfortunately, Will's second life was even more monstrous than his first, and Saint Peter condemned him to roam the earth forever. The devil, impressed by Will's evildoing, gave him a single burning ember to warm himself on the cold earth nights. Instead, Will, unrepentant and stubbornly vengeful, used it to lure foolish travellers into danger.
Enters Myria Blackburn. The child born of a secret love between a human man and an elvish mother. Too many times, did her father tell, the old tale of Will-o'-the-wisp. Unbeknownst to Will, his missing child survived and made children of his own, and Myria Blackburn was one of his descendants. Myria's mother, born of the forest, warned her never to follow the flickering wisp may she meet it, or alas, into the swamp she shall sink and vanish without a soul knowing. She couldn't understand the logic ; why would he hurt her if they were family? In her mind, it always remained, a curious mystery. Her parents taught her that she would get far in life with hard work. That she should never take what's not hers, but earn it through her own means. She was good at acrobatics; a skill she honed while playing from tree to tree in the forest as a wee lass. She picked up blacksmithing from her father and loved the craft. She was good with her long bow and enjoyed embellishing the weapons she made with intricate details. She became a well-known member of the blacksmith's guild, specialising in crafting weapons of unparalleled beauty and unmarred function. With her elvish beauty, she was wooed by many suitors, for hidden beneath her cloak, nobody could tell her fey ancestry. Though she was never quite interested in any of them, she had her fun charming and teasing them; playing along in harmless flirting. They lavished her with gifts and she accepted them, unabashed. Afterall, she had earned it herself. In her heart, she was not ready to settle. For she yearned for adventure, to explore the mysteries of the earth and discover rare materials for her craft. And secretly, she wished she would chance upon Will-o'-the-wisp some day. |
