Backstory
Moira Blackburn, younger blood sister to Myria Blackburn, was a gentle and talented child. After their home was raided, Moira was separated from her sister at the slave auctions where the raiders had sold them off. With her pretty face, emerald green eyes that shimmered so prettily even with tears in them, and long fiery tresses, Moira was a popular pick at the famous brothel, The Thrusting Gentlemen. She had a beautiful voice, and picked up the lyre and flute quickly from her older "sisters" at the brothel. She was quiet, apart from singing, and refrained from attracting attention to herself, though rather unsuccessfully for her mystic charm intrigued men.
She would sing the elvish songs her mother had taught her, of her memories as a child, of the sadness and unpredictability of life, of separation and of longing to be held by a love not bought by money. The Madam of the brothel would shake her head in disapproval when she heard Moira sing such forlorn songs. She never complained openly to her though, as Moira brought in business, and the Madame attributed her good fortune to her pretty face. In truth, men were curious about this quiet beauty, but she was ever evasive and shunned their questions. Many claimed that they loved her and showered her with gifts, paying handsomely for a chance to bed her, but within, Moira knew that she would never offer her heart to any man who thought love could be exchanged for money.
On a breezy summer Sunday, she remembered, a mysterious cloaked man she had seen sitting in the brothel while she performed her music, yet never requested for any other services, claimed that he would buy her as bride and paid a hefty sum of gold and rubies to the Madame. He was known to the commoners as Phantom Jack, a notorious masked pirate who continuously challenged authority by looting their ships of ill-begotten gains. Nobody knew who he really was. The common folk saw him as a vigilante, but to the nobles, he was a pesky annoyance that needed to be gotten rid of. With her freedom bought, Moira joined Jack's crew. He never married her, and her sole task on the ship was to create music to sing of their adventures on the seas; of the crew's tales, of fighting oppression of the corrupt and evil, and of free men. Phantom Jack always said that her music spoke to the soul and they did; her music healed the hearts of worn out men and injured sailors and every night, Jack's crew would gather around her for comfort and solace while they reminisced lost loves and families.
Moira loved the crew for they were honest men ; a group of unfortunate gentlemen wronged, framed and offered a second chance by Jack. They were ready to put their lives on the line for him and so was she.
